Join us for another night of acoustic music and tasty food and beverages. With his first appearance at Farmhouse Cafe we welcome Albert McDonald, lead singer and rhythm guitar player for Fallow Ground.
Fallow Ground notes influences from such artists as Uncle Tupelo, Sonvolt, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan while really digging the sounds of newer acts like Wilco Justin Townes Earl, Colter Wall and Tyler Childers. Fallow Ground describes itself as an Americana|Alt-Country Band with Folk and Classic Country DNA. Songwriter and vocalist Albert McDonald mines personal experiences for song material that orbit loss, broken friendships, drink and drug and an (un)healthy dose of self-scrutiny. The band self-released their first album Stubborn Beasts in October of 2018. The debut album was recorded live at Imurj Studios in Raleigh, keeping the sound space intimate and authentic and unabashedly imperfect. In 2019 Fallow Ground recorded two singles at Osceola Studios in Raleigh, NC titled Drifted Away and Sweet Lorraine.
